Hi,

I'm Daksh Babbar, both the author and subject of this website. I built this out of a desire to create something challenging and put my frontend skills to the test in an unconventional (for me) project that I fully own. It was, broadly speaking, quite a rewarding experience, more so than the annoyances I encountered. I chose not to use GSAP, forcing myself to implement something similar using Svelte's built-ins instead, hoping to gain something from it, which, in hindsight, I did. This is also why animations were particularly frustrating to implement; I had to keep fighting Svelte's animation library because of the way it changes timings and delays in different states, not to mention the weird wrapping/mounting behavior during transitions. A shoutout to the creators of Tailwind CSS and Astro for making web development so much more fulfilling, efficient, and enjoyable. Overall, I'm satisfied with the current aesthetic, feel, and functionality (I hope you feel the same!) and will continue to smooth out a few rough edges (like further optimization for lower-end systems) as I learn more.
